Concern · Dullness & overall skin quality

Why does my skin look tired, even when I'm not?

What you may be noticing

Skin that reads as flat or tired rather than clear, even without a specific mark you can point to. A sense that your skin doesn't reflect light the way it used to. Patients often reach for the word "dull" or "glow" — a useful description, but not a diagnosis.

One word, several possible causes

"Dullness" is a description, not a diagnosis.

Uneven pigment, rough texture, dehydration, vascular change, photodamage and changes in dermal quality can all reduce clarity and how light reflects off the skin — sometimes one factor, more often several at once.

Skin quality is not the finishing touch. It is the foundation.

Treatment approaches

"Glow" is not a diagnosis.

Depending on which components the assessment finds, an approach may draw on a chemical peel selected for depth, a regenerative skin-quality injectable, or medical microneedling — each addressing a different aspect of what's actually reducing clarity, rather than one product marketed to restore "glow."

When combination treatment makes sense

Tone, texture and hydration rarely change in isolation. Where more than one component is genuinely contributing, Dr. Lancho may consider a staged approach, with additional laser or light-based treatment considered separately if pigment or vascular change is the dominant cause.

What treatment can — and cannot — change

Results depend on which components are present, the treatment selected and individual biology. Skin quality is also a maintained state, not a single outcome — ongoing care and appropriate skincare remain part of the plan alongside any procedure.

Before your consultation

Bring what you're noticing, not a word for it.

You don't need to arrive already knowing whether the answer is tone, texture or hydration. That's what the assessment is for.
